A US multinational was being sued by a corporation that claimed to have secured a billion dollar government contract on its behalf. Although the corporation, on the instruction of our client, had provided both political and market analysis, it had never been instructed to go further.
We reviewed the commercial history of the corporation and discovered that it had made similar allegations before and, it had also fabricated documents in a civil action in support of such a claim. This discovery, coupled with our ability to establish the true history of our client's relationship with the claimant, allowed our client to win the litigation and avoid a Department of Justice investigation.
